Loving her cousin

Brynne has had a rough time sharing with her new cousin Haley...especially the attention. However, for about 10 minutes on monday, Brynne "shared" her blanket with Haley while watching TV and became possessive of her! All of a sudden, it's big cousin to the rescue. She may boss you around for the next 10 years of your life Haley...but deep down we see, as in these pics, she loves you so much!

Weekend Extravaganza

We had quite the eventful weekend!
1. We headed to the ranch with the Chron's, Clemens' and more, 2. Father's day with the fam, and 3. Brynne's 18 month birthday party!.
1. The Ranch - What a blast! It was gorgeous, we played endless hours of games, and had so much fun relaxing! Of course there are only pics of the kids, we never remember to take any of ourselves! Thatcher is all about hugging and wrestling. Brynne is all about independence...not a great combo at times! The kids had a blast chasing each other down the long hallways.

Somebody sneeked into the bathtub with his clothes on to play with the "waterfall"

Brynne and Thatcher got to come face to face with a few cows. They LOVED it. "Moo, moo"...they said over, and over, and over....

2. Father's Day with the family - great food and time together!

Happy Father's day to the best daddy Brynne could ask for. I seriously think this man could win an award for best dad in the world...along with my dad, of course!

3. Brynne turned 1 1/2 yesterday! Since there are WAY too many christmas parties and things to do around Brynne's b-day, we kept it just as family and decided to celebrate her half b-day! She didn't understand it was for her..but the kids had a BLAST playing! We played at the park and jumped in the bounce house with 11 little friends. We even let them load up on sugar for a day...and they loved every minute of it! It's so hard to believe our baby is 18 months...she's getting too big, too fast! She'll still always be my baby :o)

And for a mom update, because so many have asked. Her blood counts have gone up, but the CAT scan shows the tumor has shrunk in half. They aren't sure if the tumor used to be smaller and now she's built an immunity to this chemo, or why the blood levels are going up. So - they meet tomorrow to talk about further options. Please pray for wisdom and clarity for the Dr. and my parents, and that the Lord would provide an option that would work!

Waiting Game

Mom -
Today you're waiting...
Waiting for the results of what the fate of the next few months holds for you. You're used to this process, but I know it's so tough for you everytime.
You read this blog Lord knows how many times a day at work...that's a big reason why we do it. You're waiting to be done with work, waiting to be with your granddaughther more, waiting to be free...free from worry and fear.
All this waiting...makes you a stronger woman every time. No matter what the "news" is, He is bigger. No matter how hard the trial, His love can set you free and "give you hope for your future" (Jeremiah 29:11).
May He be your hope, strength, Truth, trust, and purpose. We're praying like crazy for our "Nemo," because we love you with all our hearts.
Psalm 28:7-
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped...
Isaiah 40:29-31 -
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

4 Year Anniversary

Beau and I celebrated 4 wonderful years yesterday! Time is flying...
From the first year of being married....

To the second year of finishing up PT school, pursuing our relationship while we lived in different cities for 3 months, starting a new job, and Beau "surviving" his old job. We bought our first house that year...that was a fun memory!

To the fun-filled year of pregnancy. In the cloudyness of morningsickness and working too much, Beau wondering if he had married godzilla...I do remember the wonderful belated honeymoon we took (3 months pregnant) and the wonderful day we met Brynne at the end of that year!

The fourth year of learning how to parent. I must say, it has been the best yet. New jobs, new stage, and the amazing joy of Brynne. Who knew it could be so amazing. I never knew I could love so much...both her and my hubby!

Then to today - a blessed family of 3 on our anniversary....

Here's to many more wonderful years! Will they slow down a bit?

Summer is here!

These pigtails are too hard to resist when she asks for more "gummies!"

What mom? I am helping with the laundry!

Too cool! Brynne LOVES her sunglasses!

Brynne loves her baby pool too!

The Texas heat is back and our little fish is all about the water. She begs to play in the sprinkler and screams her heart out when we have to leave the pool. Did we mention that the terrible two's have arrived a bit early? Lord help us.

Working Hard

Just had to share a Brynne story.
I have been working to put in flowerbeds in the backyard. Yesterday, like usual, Brynne was playing in the sprinkler while I was digging the flowerbed. She came over and sat down next to me and said "flower mommy!" Then she picked up one of the hand-held hoes that I had been using, and began to dig. 16 months, and after just watching what is going on, she understands you have to dig in the dirt so the flowers can come.
Beau and I really want our children to understand the importance of a good work ethic. This day and age, especially where we live, the majority pay someone to do their work for them. This is not always bad, for I do understand that some things are way too tedious/laborsome and really do take away from family time. Children who grow up on farms saw this daily, but today's suburbian children get far too little tastes of this. Beau and I hear it too often how people can't belive we don't have a lawn service. Yet at 16 months, Brynne already understands - mommy works, then the flowers come. Brynne actually helped me to dig that flowerbed..and she had a blast. I do wonder if the average Frisco family "worked" with their children, if then maybe we would have less of a problem with our children thinking money grows on trees, acting spoiled, or assuming that we can just pay someone else to take care of our things. I think Brynne will know she helped with those flowers every time she passes them, and feel proud. She'll also learn about how things grow. It was fun mommy-baby bonding! My eyes teared up as she began to dig with me..she's getting too big, too fast.
More pics to come...for Brynne to see in the future what she helped start!

The Religion of Oprah

2 Timothy 3:1-5-
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them."

“In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge; Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:1-5 NIV.

With this being said, it is saddening to see how many followers of Oprah's "one world" religion are emerging, believing the lie that as long as you follow what you believe, you will gain eternal life. May our lives proclaim Christ's words that He is "the way, truth, and life, and no one shall come to the Father except through Me."
Satan loves it. If he can convince them they are good and doing good things, then a gracious God would never deny someone who denied Him. This "New Earth" wave from Oprah is scarily close to the unified church in the end times. "Remember your spirit" people - don't you know? If you get in touch with your spirit, then maybe it's enough to cover our sin...or is it?

Persevere brothers and sisters in standing for the Truth that has set us free, cleansed us, and given us abundant life.
1 Corinthians 9:24 - "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize."
